The Los Angeles Dodgers are headed to the National League Championship Series. Justin Turner's two-run triple capped a four-run seventh inning and the Dodgers held on for a 4-3 win over the Nationals in the deciding Game Five of their NL Division Series in D.C. Joc Pederson led off the seventh with a solo homer and Carlos Ruiz broke the tie with a pinch-hit single. Closer Kenley Jansen came on in the bottom of the seventh and worked two-and-a-third scoreless innings to get the win.
Game Four starter Clayton Kershaw came out of the pen in the ninth to record the final two outs and notch his first big league save. Marc Rzepczynski took the loss in relief of Max Scherzer , who took a shutout into the seventh. Danny Espinosa singled in a run in the second and Chris Heisey had a two-run, pinch-hit homer in the seventh to get Washington close.
The Dodgers won the best-of-five matchup three-games-to-two. They will play the Cubs in the NLCS starting Saturday in Chicago. The first pitch is scheduled for 7:08pm.
