The Cubs crushed a postseason record six home runs in an 8-6 win over the Cardinals in Game Three of their National League Division Series at Wrigley Field. Dexter Fowler, Kyle Schwarber, Starlin Castro, Kris Bryant, Anthony Rizzo and Jorge Soler all went deep to help Chicago grab a 2-1 lead in the best-of-five set. The Cubs can close out the series at home on Tuesday. Jake Arrieta picked up the win despite giving up four runs in five-and-two-thirds innings. Jason Heyward and Stephen Piscotty hit two-run homers for St. Louis. Michael Wacha allowed four runs in four-and-a-third to suffer the loss.
Cubs shortstop Addison Russell had to leave last night's win over the Cardinals with tightness in his hamstring. Russell exited after smacking a triple in the fourth inning. Russell says he is day to day.
