Attorney General Lisa Madigan wants the FDA to ban minors from buying e-cigarettes. She and 39 other AG’s are asking the agency to take measures to regulate the electronic smokes as tobacco products. The nicotine based items have become increasingly popular among youth and young adults. Supporters of the e-cigarette movement claim they’re less harmful than real cigarettes because they don’t contain tobacco, but experts say nicotine is highly addictive and has immediate bio-chemical effect on the brain and body.
