Today is Father's Day. The day we honor dear old dad began in the early 1900s as a companion to Mother's Day. It wasn't until 1972 that President Richard Nixon signed a proclamation making it an official federal holiday. While items like ties and power tools have often been considered traditional gifts, in recent years tech gadgets have topped the list of Father's Day presents. Economists estimate Americans spend more than one-billion dollars each year on Father's Day gifts.
