The Little League program in Rochelle is celebrating their 60th anniversary this spring and summer. The league has been going since 1953 for boys and girls in the Hub City.
Local residents will notice several facility changes this year at the fields. The biggest project involved the moving of the outfield fence at the Joe Donor Memorial Field. Little League President Dave Reish said they moved the fence so they could host future all-star games this summer.
The back stop at Cooper Field will also be adjusted along with a net down the 1st base and right field line for foul balls.
Reish was a guest yesterday on the program "Let The People Know".
The Opening Day Ceremony will be held on Saturday, May 4th.
"Let the People Know" is heard on Wednesday afternoons at 12:30 on Newstalk 1060 and re-broadcast Saturday mornings at 6 on Newstalk 1060 and Sunday monrings at 6 on "The Coyote", 102.3FM.
