School officials in Oregon approved a new 3-year contract last night dealing with support staff employees in the district. Negotiations have been going on for the past several months.
The contract includes pay raises from 30 cents to 50 cents an hour. Technology support positions will see an increase of $8.60 an hour to $13.50.
The union has also ratified the deal.
The board last night talked about what the money will be used for if the 1% sales tax issue is approved by Ogle County voters in April.
A third of the money will be used to abate property taxes. Several facility projects will also take place which includes air conditioning at Jefferson, the Junior High, and High School buildings along with improvements in the security systems.
The 2013-14 School calendar for the Oregon school district was also approved last night.
