Ogle County Treasurer John Coffman of Polo has announced that he will not run for a 6th term in office.
He was also a county board member for 8 years prior to his current position.
Coffman also spent 7 years on the Board of Illinois County Treasurer's Association. He was president of the organization in 2015 and received the Illinois Treasurer of the Year award the same year.
John's wife, Lisa, also plans to retire in 2018 after 35 years with Northern Trust Bank in Chicago. Both plan to help Coffman's parents run the family farm.
Coffman said its been an honor and privilege to serve residents in Ogle County for more than 25 years.
Current Chief Deputy Linda Beck plans to run for Ogle County Treasurer in the March 20th Primary Election.
