The Inpatient Services Staff at Rochelle Community Hospital ranked number three with 89% in a list of the top six hospitals in the State of Illinois with the best nurse-patient communication. This achievement is based on the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) survey results from January 2015-December 2015. RCH was recognized in the listing reported by Becker’s Hospital Review on November 3, 2016.
On the survey, patients are asked three questions pertaining to Nurse-Patient Communication. They are:
During this hospital stay, how often did nurses treat you with courtesy and respect?
During this hospital stay, how often did nurses listen carefully to you?
During this hospital stay, how often did nurses explain things in a way you could understand?
The responses to this question are chosen among Never, Sometimes, Usually or Always. The 89 percent for RCH reflects the percent of “Always” responses.
