2 Rockford men pled not guilty in Ogle County court yesterday following a fight that took place in Rochelle earlier this month.
18-year old Devin Griffith has been charged with the felony offense of aggravated battery and the misdemeanor charge of resisting arrest. He was also wanted on a Winnebago County warrant for a probation violation.
Also involved in the altercation was 28-year old Legion Charlton who was arrested on the charge of aggravated domestic battery.
The fight took place in the 11 hundred block of Avenue "B" in Rochelle. The male victim suffered serious lacerations to his face which included an eye injury. He was treated for his injuries at a Rockford hospital.
It took around 2 hours for local authorities to apprehend Griffith following the incident.
In court yesterday, probable cause was found for both Rockford men as both demanded a jury trial. Griffith returns to court on November 9th for a pre-trial conference.
Charlton is back before a judge on November 23rd for a jury status hearing.
Both remain in jail in lieu of $50,000 bonds.
A 3rd arrest from the confrontation involved 18-year old Brittany Watson of Freeport. She was arrested on the charge of battery and resisting arrest, both misdemeanor offenses.
