Ogle County grand jury has indicted a Rochelle teen following fatal crash in June

A Rochelle teen has been indicted by an Ogle County grand jury following the death of 19-year old Anna Speed of Kings.

19-year old Emily Jahnke has been charged with the Class 4 felony of aggravated reckless driving.

The fatal crash took place the night of June 10th northeast of Creston in the 18,000 block of East Gillis Road.

A 2004 Jeep driven by Jahnke was traveling eastbound and left the north side of the road. The Jeep then struck a utility pole.

Speed was pronounced dead at the scene as she was a back passenger in the vehicle.

Jahnke along with the front passenger in the Jeep, 19-year old Anna Craven of Rochelle, were ejected from the vehicle.

Both Jahnke and Craven were treated for their injuries at area hospitals.

A future court date for Jahnke has not been scheduled at this time. She is currently in school in Kentucky.

No other charges will be filed by Ogle County officials following the accident.
