A Franklin Grove man has improved to fair condition at a Rockford Hospital after the SUV he was driving crashed into a FedEx truck last Monday morning in rural Ashton.
32-year old Robert Williams suffered injuries in the accident. He had been listed in critical condition right after the incident.
Reports indicate that the crash took place in front of Crest Foods under foggy conditions Monday morning. The FedEx truck was leaving the facility when the collision occurred on Route 38. Williams was traveling westbound when his SUV struck the side of the truck.
The driver and passenger in the FedEx truck were not injured.
Lee County Sheriff's Police investigated the accident.
