Known as "Operation Blessing", area residents can volunteer their time starting today to help the residents of Rochelle clean up their property from Thursday night's tornado.
They can start arriving at 9am with the event beginning at 9:30 at the Helms Athletic Complex which is located at Jones Road and North 9th Street.
The volunteers need to be 18 years of age or older and wearing closed toed shoes and long pants.

Donations of food, water, and new clothing and linens are being accepted at the Rochelle Fire Department and the Hillcrest Fire Department from 9am until 6pm.
Monetary donations can go through the Rochelle Area Community Foundation. They can be located at

Gift cards can be delivered to the Rochelle Fire Department. The Salvation Army is also located at the United Methodist Church and is offering vouchers for lodging, dining, and groceries to the storm victims.
Contractors doing work in the subdivisions must register with the Illinois Attorney General's Office that will be located at the West Parking lot of RTHS. Insurance contacts are also located in the parking lot.
