Area residents can still file petitions today to get their name on the ballot for the April 7th Consolidated Election.
Races include city and village officials along with school and park boards.
There will be a contested race for village president in Hillcrest. Kim Whalen is looking for a 2nd term in office. At this time, she will be opposed by Trustee Steve Dodson.
Rick Rhoads and Jeanie Sparacino also filed a petition Monday for a trustee position. Both are currently on the Hillcrest board.
The final day to file a petition is next Monday, December 22nd.
