In a 13-11 vote last night, Kim Gouker of Byron will remain as the Chairman of the Ogle County board.
Gouker has held this position for the past 2 years. The other county board member nominated for the position was Lyle Hopkins of Polo. Gouker was the 1st candidate the board voted for.
Gouker said that current county officials still need to work together in the future on certain issue. This includes some changes with the Sheriff's Department.
John Finfrock of Mt. Morris was also elected as Vice Chairman of the board.
The Ogle County board held their organizational meeting yesterday evening. The 8 winners from the General Election were sworn into office by Circuit Judge Robert Hanson.
A swearing-in ceremony was also held Monday for Sheriff Brian VanVickle, State's Attorney Eric Morrow, Clerk and Recorder Becky Huntley, and Treasurer John Coffman.
Committees for the Ogle County board will be determined at a later date.
