The Alzheimer’s Association, Rock River Branch, will offer a program designed to examine the symptoms of caregiver stress and offer strategies towards becoming a healthier caregiver. This program will take place on Wednesday, March 10, from 5:00 – 6:30 p.m. at the Rock River Branch Office, 93 S. Hennepin, Dixon.
Jenna Wachtveitl, Program Specialist with the Central Illinois Chapter Alzheimer’s Association, will help participants set realistic expectations for themselves and the person they care for as part of the program.
It is offered free to the public and registration is required. Individuals can register by calling the Rock River Branch office at 815.285.1100.

The 59th Annual Rochelle Community Leader Banquet is Thursday March 18 at Hickory Grove presented by Rochelle Golden K Club, Lions Club, Kiwanis Club & Rotary Club. The 46 member choir from Bradley University will present a variety of music in the Rochelle Township High School Auditorium at 7:30p..m. Friday, March 12th. Pancake Day at the Rochelle Middle School is Saturday, March 13th 7 to Noon in conjunction with the science fair and a child identification program. Children under five eat free. All proceeds will be used to buy materials for the grade school class rooms.

Bring your friends and family and come test your level of trivia knowledge while raising funds for a good cause. The Alzheimer’s Association, Rock River Branch, will host Trivia Night on Saturday, March 13, from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. at The Last Stop, 1914 Lowell Park Road, Dixon.
Registration is $20 per person. Team sizes can be as few as two or as many as six people. Trivia will include a variety of subjects and prizes will be awarded to the top team. Proceeds will be benefit the Rock River Branch Alzheimer's Association.

New Life Foursquare Church of Rochelle is sponsoring a Spaghetti dinner and Silent Auction fundraiser Saturday, March 13th from 4 to 7p.m. The event is being held at the United Methodist Church, 709 4th Avenue, Rochelle. All proceeds go towards the adoption fees for Ellianna Erickson, daughter of missionaries Michael and Andrea Erickson in the Philippines. This is a suggested donation event only, no admission fee. Kishwaukee Valley Heritage Society in Genoa will be celebrating the Women's History Month with the following program: March 14: For the Love of Quilts -Basket cases will have a program on quilts through the years, focusing on quilts and the war years, including the Quilts of Valor Program. Hope of Ogle County is looking for volunteers to work at the new Hope Chest “Twice Loved Boutique”, 411 Lincoln Highway, Rochelle. They are also looking for good and clean salable furniture, household items, books, toys and clothing. All proceeds go to HOPE of Ogle County, a domestic violence prevention agency.

ROCHELLE – The city’s State of the Community Dinner is a community event featuring dinner and an outstanding education program for citizens and community leaders. This year it’s Thursday, April 1, at the Rochelle Country Club restaurant. The evening begins with cocktails at 6 pm, dinner at 6:30, and program at 7:30 pm.
Presenters will discuss some of the local services that are treasures in our community. Tickets are $28 per person. State of the Community is produced by the League of Women Voters of the Rochelle Area and its partner the Rochelle Area Chamber of Commerce.

The popular Spring Choral Pops concerts scheduled for this week have been moved making April a very musical month. Choral Director Cory Jones asks patrons to please note, the Choral Pops Concert has been moved to Thursday and Friday, April 15 and 16. The Vocal Jazz Night Concert is Thursday, April 22.
