The Heat's quest for a third straight NBA Championship began by locking up Derrick Rose and the Bulls, 107-95, at AmericanAirlines Arena. Miami held Rose to 12 points on 4-of-15 shooting and five turnovers in his return to the court after missing all of last season. LeBron James led a balanced Heat attack with 17 points, eight assists and six rebounds. The Heat went on a 31-to-5 run in the first half that Chicago was never able to recover from. Six other Miami players scored in double figures and the Heat hit 11-of-20 from behind the arc as a team. Carlos Boozer led the Bulls with 31 points.
The Bulls will have their home opener on Thursday against the New York Knicks. WRHL'S Pre-Game Show begins at 6:30 on Newstalk 1060.
