The White Sox posted a seven-spot in the opening inning and never looked back as they crushed the Twins, 12-1, in the first of three at U.S. Cellular Field. Alexei Ramirez was 4-for-4 with a home run, three RBI and two runs scored, while Adam Dunn hit his 32nd homer of the season. Erik Johnson earned his first career win, dealing six innings of one-run ball with eight strikeouts. Liam Hendricks didn't make it out of the first inning as he was charged with all seven runs for Minnesota. Chris Parmelee drove in the Twins only run.

Caleb Gindl finished a double shy of the cycle and drove in three runs as the Brewers cruised past the Cubs 6-1 in the opener of a four-game series at Miller Park. Jean Segura, Martin Maldonado and Yuniesky Betancourt also plated a run each for the Brewers, who have won four of their last five. Wily Peralta struck out seven while giving up just an unearned run in six innings as he improved to 10-and-15. Starlin Castro had two hits and the lone RBI for the Cubs, who have dropped five-of-six. Edwin Jackson allowed two runs in four frames as he slipped to 8-and-16.
