Detroit beat the White Sox 1-0

Anibal Sanchez and three relievers combined on a five-hit shutout as the Tigers blanked the White Sox 1-0 at U.S. Cellular Field. Sanchez struck out 10 while giving up the five hits and four walks over seven-and-a-third innings as he improved to 14-and-7. Joaquin Benoit closed it out for his 18th save. Omar Infante singled in the lone run in the eighth inning for the Tigers, who took the rubber match of the three-game set. Leury Garcia had three of the five hits for the Sox, who have dropped 11 of their last 13. Jose Quintana tossed seven scoreless innings, but Matt Lindstrom suffered the loss.

The White Sox open up a home series tonight against Cleveland.
