Travis Wood tossed seven innings of shutout ball to lead the Cubs in a 2-0 win over the Reds. Wood struck out seven and scattered six hits to improve to 9-and-11. Luis Valbuena went 2-for-4 with a solo homer while Ryan Sweeney also went deep. Kevin Gregg closed it out for his 31st save for Chicago, which had lost four out of six. Bronson Arroyo fell to 13-and-11 after allowing the two runs over seven innings. Joey Votto and Zack Cozart were each 2-for-4 but Cincinnati saw a four-game winning streak end.
