White Sox lose 6th straight game

Robinson Cano went 3-for-4 with a home run and two RBI as the Yankees held on to beat the White Sox 6-5 to sweep the three-game series in the Bronx. Brett Gardner had a two-run triple during a four-run fourth inning for the Yankees, who have won five of their last six games. CC Sabathia tossed seven-and-a-third innings of three-run ball as he improved his mark to 13-and-11. After the White Sox scored four runs in the eighth to pull within one, Mariano Rivera came in and recorded the final four outs for his 41st save. Avisail Garcia and Josh Phegley drove in two runs apiece in Chicago's sixth straight loss. Erik Johnson allowed five runs, three earned, in six frames to suffer the loss in his Major League debut.

The White begin a 4-game series tonight in Baltimore
