James Shields scattered eight hits across seven innings of shutout ball as the Royals took a 5-1 win over the White Sox in Chicago. Shields improved to 5-and-7 with the victory while David Lough hit a solo homer and drove in two for Kansas City. Salvador Perez was 2-for-4 and scored twice while Lorenzo Cain also went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run. KC has won four straight games. Conor Gillaspie hit a solo homer in the eighth for Chicago. Jose Quintana gave up two runs in seven frames to fall to 5-and-3. The White Sox have lost four out of five.
