The NIU Huskies are picked to win their 3rd straight Mid-American Conference football championship.
The media poll was released today as NIU is pick to win the West Division of the MAC while Ohio is the favorite to win the East Division.
The Huskies return 16 starters under 1st year Head Coach Rod Carey. They were (12-2) overall and (8-0) in conference play. NIU lost to Florida State in the Orange Bowl game 38-10.
The Huskies are lead by senior quarterback Jordan Lynch who threw for 3,138 yards and 25 touchdowns last season. He also rushed for 1,815 yards and 19 touchdowns. Lynch did receive votes for the Heisman Trophy award.
NIU opens up the season on August 31st at Iowa.
