The Blackhawks have traded center Dave Bolland to the Toronto Maple Leafs. Bolland had 14 points and seven goals during the regular season and scored the Stanley Cup-clinching goal in Game Six against the Bruins. The Blackhawks received three draft picks in the deal, including the 51st and 117th in Sunday's draft. Chicago also gets a fourth round pick in the 2014 NHL Draft.
In addition to trading Dave Bolland to the Maple Leafs, the Blackhawks also shipped Michael Frolik to the Winnipeg Jets yesterday. Frolik was acquired by Chicago in a deal with the Florida Panthers in 2011. The 'Hawks received a pair of draft picks in exchange for Frolik, the 74th and 134th. In addition to this deal, the Blackhawks re-signed forward Bryan Bickell to a four-year contract worth 16 million dollars.
The Blackhawks spent their first-round draft pick yesterday on Illinois-native Ryan Hartman, a right wing who played as an amateur for Plymouth. The 'Hawks picked defenseman Carl Dahlstrom from Sweden in the second round and selected center John Hayden in the third. Chicago made five other selections throughout the draft.
