The Indians and White Sox combined for 34 hits and 29 runs as Cleveland outslugged the home team at U.S. Cellular Field 19-10 in the opener of a doubleheader. The Tribe fell down by five after the first inning but Ryan Rayburn hit a two-run homer and drove in four to help in the comeback effort. Drew Stubbs drove in three while Mark Reynolds was the only Indian without at least two hits, but still finished 1-for-4 with an RBI and two runs. Matt Albers earned the win in relief for Cleveland. Adam Dunn hit a two-run homer and Jeff Keppinger was 3-for-4 with a solo blast and two RBI. Tyler Flowers blasted a three-run shot for Chicago. Brian Omogrosso suffered the loss after allowing nine runs in just two-and-a-third innings.
Nick Swisher's solo homer in the top of the ninth capped a four-run rally and sent the Indians to a 9-8 win over the White Sox in Chicago to sweep a doubleheader. Jason Kipnis drove in a pair and Mark Reynolds hit a solo home run for Cleveland, which has won three out of four. Matt Langwell got the win in relief while Vinnie Pestano saved his sixth game of the season. Alejandro De Aza went 3-for-5 with two RBI and four runs for Chicago, which has lost three straight and four out of five. Adam Dunn drove in two while Jeff Keppinger was 3-for-4 with two RBI in defeat. Addison Reed allowed all four runs in the ninth to suffer his fourth blown save and take the loss. The Indians outslugged the Pale Hose in the first game of the twinbill, 19-10.

Mike Zunino singled up the middle to give the Mariners a 5-4 win over the Cubs in 10 innings at Safeco Field. Raul Ibanez tripled in the tying run in the eighth inning for Seattle, which stopped a two-game skid. Jason Bay left the park in the fifth. Hisashi Iwakuma allowed four runs in eight innings for a no decision. Yoervis Medina picked up the win in relief. Alfonso Soriano and Dioner Navarro both hit homers for Chicago, which had won two straight. Travis Wood gave up two runs in six-and-a-third innings for the no decision. Blake Parker took the loss.
