Angels beat the Cubs 4-3

Albert Pujols connected for a two-run home run in the bottom of the eighth inning to put the Angels ahead and closer Ernesto Frieri  made it stand in a 4-3 win over the Cubs. Pujols finished with three runs batted in. Howard Kendrick had three hits as the Angels scored three runs in the seventh and eighth innings to rally from a 3-1 deficit. Robert Coello earned the win in relief. Ryan Sweeney and Alfonso Soriano each drove in a run for Chicago. Sweeney had three hits. Carlos Villanueva took the loss, dropping to 1-and-4.
