RTHS Senior Michelle Dobbs ended were high school track career on top Saturday as she won the 800 meter race at the Girls Class 2A State Track Meet in Charleston.
Dobbs set a new record for the Class 2A meet in the 800 with a time of (2:10.78). She is also the 2nd state champion in the girls track program at RTHS. Jen Jenkins won the Triple Jump event in 2009.
RTHS has also had 2 state champions in the boys track program. Bill Eckhardt won the javelin in 1937 and Carson Brooks was the Discus Champion in 1965.
Dobbs will be attending the University of Chicago this fall and will be part of their Cross Country and Women's Track and Field programs.
