Blackhawks take Game #1 in their series with Detroit

Johnny Oduya  and Marcus Kruger each scored in the third period to lift the Blackhawks to a 4-1 win over the Red Wings in Game One of the Western Conference semifinals. Marian Hossa  scored on the power play in the first and Patrick Sharp added an empty-netter late in regulation for Chicago. Corey Crawford made 20 saves for the Presidents' Trophy winning 'Hawks. Damien Brunner tied the game for Detroit just past the midway mark of the first period with his third goal of the postseason. Jimmy Howard turned away 38 shots in defeat. Chicago hosts Game Two on Saturday.
