Anthony Rizzo was 3-for-5 with a pair of RBI as the Cubs crushed the Nationals, 8-2. David DeJesus and starting pitcher Edwin Jackson also knocked in two runs apiece for Chicago, which snapped a two-game slide. Jackson picked up his first victory of the season, allowing two runs in five-and-a-third innings. Ian Desmond knocked in both runs, including a solo homer, for Washington, which had won five straight. Stephen Strasburg gave up four unearned runs and struck out seven over five frames as he fell to 1-and-5.
