Michael Bowden got the win in relief to improve to 1-and-1 and Kevin Gregg earned his fourth save of the season. The Cubs have won four of their last five games. Everth Cabrera had three hits and scored a pair of runs for the Padres. Clayton Richard took the loss to fall to 0-and-3 after giving up all five runs in five-and-two-thirds innings. The loss snapped a four-game winning streak for San Diego.
