The Nationals completed a three-game sweep of the White Sox with a 7-4 win at Nationals Park. Bryce Harper and Ryan Zimmerman each had two RBI. Harper went 2-for-3 to raise his average to .417 on the season as Washington improved to 7-and-2. Dan Haren earned his first win, dealing five innings of three-run ball. Rafael Soriano locked up his fifth save. Chicago put up 13 hits, but left 11 runners on base. Adam Dunn and Alejandro De Aza each knocked in their fifth run of the season. Dylan Axelrod took the loss, giving up six runs across three-and-two-thirds innings. The White Sox are 4-and-5.
The Giants scored four times in the fourth and three in the fifth to overcome a 5-0 deficit and beat the Cubs 7-6 at Wrigley Field. Angel Pagan lofted a sac-fly to snap a 5-all tie and put San Francisco ahead to stay. He and Pablo Sandoval drove in two runs each as the Giants won their fourth straight. Ryan Vogelsong lasted six innings for the win and Sergio Romo notched his sixth save. Scott Feldman was charged with six runs, but just two earned in less than five innings to fall to 0-and-2 for Chicago. Anthony Rizzo homered and Brent Lillibridge singled in two for the Cubs in defeat.
