Jordan Zimmermann allowed two runs over seven frames to get the win while Rafael Soriano locked up his fourth save as Washington improved to 6-and-2. Gavin Floyd was tagged for five runs over five-and-a-third innings to take the loss for Chicago. Alex Rios went 2-for-4 with an RBI as the Sox fell to 4-and-4. The game was delayed for about 19 minutes as the umpires were late to the stadium due to traffic.

Last night's scheduled game between the Milwaukee Brewers and Cubs was postponed due to rain. The game was rescheduled for Tuesday, July 30th at 1:20 p.m. as a part of a day-night doubleheader. It was to be the finale of a three-game series in the Windy City. The teams split the first two games.
