Chicago Baseball

The Cubs erased an early three-run deficit and came back to beat the Brewers, 6-3. David DeJesus went 3-for-5 with two RBI and two runs for Chicago, which moved to 3-and-5. Anthony Rizzo also drove in a pair as starter Travis Wood gave up two earned runs over six-and-a-third innings. Carlos Marmol picked up the win in relief while Kyuji Fujikawa earned his second save. John Axford allowed three runs in two-thirds of an inning to take the loss for Milwaukee. Ryan Braun was 2-for-4 with an RBI as the Crew fell to 2-and-6.

Adam LaRoche hit a pair of homers and drove in three as the Nationals edged the White Sox, 8-7.  Jayson Werth connected on a two-run shot and drove in three for Washington, which moved to 5-and-2.  Ian Desmond also went deep for the Nats while Gio Gonzalez pitched five innings of one-run ball and struck out seven.  Craig Stammen earned the win in relief while Rafael Soriano notched his third save, despite giving up a two-run homer to Alex Rios in the ninth.  Paul Konerko hit a three-run blast and drove in four as Chicago dipped to 4-and-3.  Jake Peavy was tagged with the loss after allowing six runs across five-and-a-third innings.
