Brandon Saad and Dave Bolland scored twice as the Blackhawks blew out the Red Wings, 7-1. Chicago scored three times in the first five minutes to take control. Jeremy Morin, Jonathan Toews and Nick Leddy also tallied for the Blackhawks, who led 7-0 in the third period. Cory Emmerton scored with 33 seconds left for Detroit to spoil the shutout. Carey Crawford made 33 saves in the win. Jimmy Howard and Jonas Gustavsson split time in net for the Wings.
The Blackhawks will be at the United Center tonight against Nashville.
