NIU 1st-year Head Football Coach Rod Carey announced his 1st recruiting class on Wednesday as the Huskies are coming off a (12-2) season which included their 2nd straight MAC Championship and a trip to the Discover Orange Bowl on New Year's Day.
NIU finished the season ranked 22nd in the final Associated Press poll.
Carey signed 24 players which included 12 on offense and 10 on defense. The list included 3 players from Class 3A State Champion Aurora Christian High School.
NIU got 10 players from Illinois and 7 from Wisconsin.
NIU begins spring practise on March 20th and will open up the season on August 31st at Iowa.
