Northwestern has posted its first bowl win in 64 years following a 34-20 victory over Mississippi State in the Taxslayer.com Gator Bowl in Jacksonville. Venrick Mark, Trevor Siemian and Tyris Jones all ran for touchdowns as the Wildcats earned their first bowl win since a victory in the 1949 Rose Bowl. Dan Vitale had seven catches for 82 yards for Northwestern. Tyler Russell was just 12-of-28 for 106 yards with two TDs and four picks for the Bulldogs, who lost five of their last six games after opening the season 7-and-0.
