The NIU Huskies will play in their 1st BCS Bowl game tonight as they take on Florida State in Miami.
NIU was selected for the Discover Orange Bowl at Sun Life Stadium. Kick-Off is set for 7:30.
The Huskies come into the game ranked 15th in the country with a (12-1) record. They have won 12 straight games which ties them with Notre Dame and Ohio State with the longest winning streak in the country. NIU's only loss came in the opener against Iowa 18-17 at Soldier Field in Chicago.
It's also the 1st game for Head Coach Rod Carey. He was named to the position after Dave Doeren left NIU for the Head Coaching position at North Carolina State.
Florida State comes into the game with an (11-2) record and ranked 12th in the country. Their losses came to North Carolina State 17-16 and Florida 37-26.
This is the 1st meeting between the 2 schools.
NIU is the 1st Mid-American Conference football team to play in a BSC Bowl Game.
