The NIU Football Team was honored last night at half time of the men's basketball game following their 2nd straight MAC Championship and an invitation to play in the Orange Bowl game on January 1st in Miami, Florida. Nearly 3,000 people attended last night's game, the largest crowd so far this season for a NIU Men's basketball game.
The Huskies are (12-1) on the season and is the 1st MAC school to be invited to a BCS bowl game. NIU will play Florida State from the ACC.
NIU MAC MVP Quarterback Jordan Lynch said that the team knows they are the underdog in the Orange Bowl game, but they are going to Florida January 1st to win the game.
NIU returns to practise this Saturday in preparation of their game with Florida State.
