Nikola Pekovic had 16 points and 17
rebounds to lead the Minnesota Timberwolves over the Chicago Bulls, 82-75, in
a preseason matchup at Target Center.
Brandon Roy had 13 points and four assists, Lou Amundson contributed five
points and nine rebounds and Dante Cunningham chipped in with nine points.
Alexey Shved, who signed a three-year deal with Minnesota over the summer
after playing six years in the Russian Superleague, contributed 15 points on
4-of-7 shooting for the Timberwolves, who improved to 2-1 in the preseason.
Joakim Noah had 14 points and 13 boards and Kirk Hinrich shot 3-for-5 from
behind the arc on his way to a 15-point night for the Bulls, who fell to 1-2
this preseason.
Nazr Mohammed had 10 points and six boards, and Jimmy Butler played 48
minutes, netting nine points and grabbing eight rebounds.
Although the game was tied at 68-68 with 6:57 to play, the Bulls shot only 3-
of-14 down the stretch, allowing Minnesota to edge out the seven-point
victory.
