Joaquin Arias plated the go-ahead run on a ground out in the seventh to back seven solid innings from Ryan Vogelsong as the Giants swept a four-game series with a 3-2 win over the Cubs in the finale. Vogelsong allowed just two runs and struck out three to improve to 4-and-2 on the season. Jeremy Affeldt tossed two perfect innings to register his first save for San Francisco, which has won seven of its last eight games. Brandon Crawford knocked in the Giants' other two runs in the win. Jeff Samardzija and Steve Clevenger each drove in a run for Chicago. On the mound, Samardzija worked five frames of two-run ball in a no-decision. Carlos Marmol was saddled with the loss for the Cubs, who have lost 16 of their last 19 games.
