Bulls and Blackhawks both lose on Saturday

The Nets nearly set an NBA record for three-pointers made in a game as they crushed the Bulls 124-96 in Chicago.  Brooklyn set a new franchise record with 24 made threes, which was one short of the NBA record set by Cleveland last season.  Quincy Acy led the charge for the Nets with 21 points and a career-best six made threes.  Allen Crabbe chipped in with 20 points for Brooklyn, which has won two in-a-row.

Sean Kilpatrick paced the Bulls with 20 points and Bobby Portis added 18.  Chicago has dropped its last two.

The Bulls play in Brooklyn Monday night against the Nets. Pre-Game Show begins at 6:15pm on Good Time Oldies 1060.

Connor Hellebuyck  logged 30 saves and Andrew Copp scored a pair of goals as the Jets stomped the Blackhawks 4-1 in Winnipeg.  Hellebuyck earned his 44th victory, the most ever by an American-born goalie in a season.  The Jets have won five straight and a franchise record nine consecutive at home.  Winnipeg will open the playoffs at home against Minnesota.  Brent Seabrook scored for the Blackhawks.

Chicago forward Patrick Sharp received a third period standing ovation when it was announced this was his final NHL game after 14 seasons.  The Blackhawks finish with a 33-39-and-10 record, failing to make the playoffs for the first time since 2008.
