Jan Rutta's first NHL goal and Richard Panik scored an unassisted goal in the final period to pad the lead. Corey Crawford stopped 32-of-33 shots in the winning effort. Chicago has won two straight to open the season.
Sonny Milano had the only Columbus goal in defeat. Nick Foligno and Gabriel Carlsson were credited with assists. Columbus goalie Joonas Korpisalo [[ YOH-nuhs kohr-pih-SAL-loh ]] had 24 saves.
