Chicago Bears running back Jordan Howard sustained a corneal
abrasion during a walk-through practice Friday and has been ruled
out for the team's preseason game against the Arizona Cardinals.
Howard, who was selected to the Pro Bowl last season, did not
travel with the team to Arizona for Saturday's game.
Multiple outlets reported that the Bears are of the mindset that
Howard's injury is minor.
Howard rushed 252 times for 1,313 yards with six touchdowns in 15
games last season and had 29 receptions for 298 yards and a score.
The 22-year-old rushed three times for four years in the preseason
opener last week.
Fellow running back Jeremy Langford is nursing an ankle sprain and
is also ruled out of Saturday's contest. Rookie Tarik Cohen and
Ka'Deem Carey are expected to carry most of the load versus the
Cardinals.
