Rafael Devers hit a three-run homer during a four-run first and the Red Sox went on to down the White Sox 9-5 in the opener of a four-game set in Boston. Mookie Betts added a two-run blast for the BoSox, who have won three straight. Rick Porcello pitched into the sixth to improve to 5-and-14.
Nicky Delmonico hit his first career homer for Chicago, which is 3-and-15 since the All-Star break. Miguel Gonzalez allowed seven runs in less than two innings to fall to 5-and-10.
