Cardinals, Brewers both win

The Cardinals came to life late as they avoided a three-game sweep by the Pirates with an 8-4 win in the series finale at Busch Stadium.  Paul DeJong capped a four-run seventh inning by driving in two on a single.  Randal Grichuk smashed a solo homer, while reliever Trevor Rosenthal got one out for the victory.  Adam Frasier had two RBI and a run scored in the loss.  Reliever Juan Nicasio fell to 1-and-4, giving up four runs, three earned, facing five batters.

Zach Davies tossed seven shutout innings as the Brewers blanked the Braves 7-0 at SunTrust Park.  Davies improved to 8-and-4 on the year.  Keon Broxton homered and drove in three, while Travis Shaw smacked a two-run homer in the first inning for the Crew, who avoided a three-game sweep.  Ender Inciarte had two of the five hits for the Braves, who had won their previous four.  Julio Teheran was rocked for all seven runs in three-plus frames as he fell to 6-and-6.
