Brewers win, Cardinals lose in Major League Baseball

Jimmy Nelson struck out 10 in a complete game effort as the Brewers edged the Padres 2-1 at Miller Park.

Nelson allowed just one run as he improved to 5-and-3 on the year. Hernan Perez and Manny Pina both hit solo homers in the sixth inning for the Crew, who took two of three in the series and have won five of six overall.

The Orioles hit four home runs as they powered past the Cardinals, 8-5, in Baltimore.  Mark Trumbo led the way with a two-run bomb in the fifth inning to go along with a run-scoring single in the third.  Seth Smith, Trey Mancini and Welington Castillo also went deep in the winning effort.  The O's took two-of-three in the series to get back to 500 at 34-and-34.  Ubaldo Jimenez improved to 2-and-2 with the win and Brad Brach posted his 12th save.

Stephen Piscotty homered twice before Dexter Fowler and Yadier Molina went deep in the eighth to power the St. Louis offense.  Lance Lynn gave up seven runs in four-and-two-thirds to take the loss.
