Addison Russell launched the go-ahead homer in the sixth inning as the Cubs tripped up the Rockies, 7-5, at Wrigley Field. Kyle Schwarber, Miguel Montero and Ben Zobrist all tacked on homers for the Cubs, who prevented a four-game sweep at home. Carl Edwards Junior recorded five outs to get the relief win. Chicago evened its record at 31-and-31.
Ian Desmond and D.J. LeMahieu each drove in two for the Rox. Antonio Senzatela lasted just four innings and Jordan Lyles took the loss in relief. Colorado's seven-game win streak is over.
The Cubs will be in New York tonight to open up a 3-game series with the Mets.
