White Sox win 6th straight game, Cubs beat Boston 7-4

Melky Cabrera slammed the go-ahead home run in the top of the 10th inning as the White Sox tamed the Tigers, 6-4, in Detroit. Avisail Garcia padded the lead with an RBI-triple. Derek Holland tossed six-and-a-third innings of one-run ball, and David Robertson got the relief win. Jose Abreu added a solo shot for the South Siders, who will go for the sweep on Sunday.

Victor Martinez homered and had a one-run single for Detroit. Justin Wilson took the loss in relief.

White Sox baseball returns on Good Time Oldies 1060 this afternoon with the Pre-Game Show at 11:35.

Kyle Schwarber singled in the go-ahead run in the seventh inning as the Cubs foiled the Red Sox, 7-4, at Fenway Park.  Anthony Rizzo, Miguel Montero and Ben Zobrist slammed home runs in the victory.  John Lackey gave up eight hits and four runs over six innings to earn the win.  Wade Davis struck out the side to get the save. 

Steven Wright gave up seven hits and five runs to take the loss for Boston.  Hanley Ramirez and Andrew Benintendi had solo shots for the Red Sox, who have lost three of four.

Final game of the series is tonight at Fenway Park in Boston.
