Wrigley Field was once again the home for a Cubs celebration. Anthony Rizzo hit a walk-off RBI single in the bottom of the ninth to give the Cubs a 3-2 win over the Dodgers in their home opener. It was the Cubs' first game at Wrigley since ending their 108-year championship drought as they raised the banner in a celebration before the game. Closer Wade Davis came away with his first victory.
Sergio Romo was tagged with the loss. Los Angeles was 1-for-7 with runners in scoring position in the one-run defeat. Corey Seager drove in his eighth run of the season for the Dodgers.
Game 2 of the series is Wednesday night. Prior to the game, the Cubs will received their championship rings.
