The Bears are moving on without quarterback Jay Cutler. The Bears have released the veteran after eight seasons with the team. The move saves Chicago over 12-million dollars in salary cap space. The 33-year-old Cutler was limited to just five games last season due to injury.
The Bears are adding free agent quarterback Mike Glennon. The three-year deal is worth 45-million dollars with 19-million guaranteed. The 27-year-old Glennon has appeared in 21 career games with 18 starts in four seasons with Tampa Bay, but hasn't started the last two years.
The Bears are also bringing in safety Quintin Demps. The "Houston Chronicle" reports the three-year pact is worth 13.5-million dollars. Demps had six interceptions in 13 games with the Texans last year.
Wide receiver Alshon Jeffery is heading to Philadelphia. NFL Network reports the Eagles have reached a one-year, 14-million-dollar contract with Jeffery. The 27-year-old spent his first five NFL seasons with the Bears. He had 52 catches for 821 yards and two touchdowns in 12 games in 2016.
