High School Football
Rochelle Township High School Senior Danny Redington made it official today as he signed to play football at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville next fall.
Danny, 6-7 and 270 pounds, was part of the RTHS football program for the past 4 seasons. He was named All-Conference offensive lineman this past fall in the West Division of the Northern Illinois Big 12 Conference.
Redington said he plans to play offensive tackle at Platteville. He will most likely be part of the Junior Varsity team next fall.
RTHS Head Football Coach Kevin Crandall said that its always good for the program for a player to move on and play at the college level. It's a great experience on and off the field.
Crandall said that Danny really improved in his game over the past couple of years and he hopes he can continue that trend at Platteville.
Redington plans to get a degree in engineering.
Wisconsin-Platteville is a Division III football program.
